The Treetop Walk Laurentides opened its gates on June 24th, just in time for the start of the holiday season in Quebec. The project was realized by EAK Tree Top Walks Inc. in collaboration with MRC des Laurentides. EAK Tree Top Walks Inc., a 100% subsidiary of EAK AG, is responsible for the construction, the interior design of the farm and the future operation of the treetop walk while MRC des Laurentides is in charge of the maintenance and restoration of the infrastructure of the old fish farm, including listed buildings.
The treetop walk now welcomes families, seniors, people with restricted mobility and all other nature lovers on a more than 1,400 meter long walkway to the treetops. This gigantic wooden structure, which is harmoniously integrated into the environment, culminates in a spectacular lookout tower that reaches 40 meters into the sky. Once arrived, Visitors can enjoy incredible views of the spectacular Laurentian scenery as well as of Mont Tremblant, the Mont Tremblant National Park and Mont Blanc. Another highlight for adventurous visitors is a 70sqm net installed in the middle of the viewing tower platform.
This new tourist attraction is located on the magnificent site of the former MRC des Laurentides fish farm. The majestic main stone building houses the Treetop Walk Shop and the Chez Émile restaurant and terrace.
The treetop walk is strategically located near Mont-Tremblant, easily accessible from Montreal and Ottawa as part of a day trip, and immediately adjacent to one of the longest cycling trails in Quebec. The year-round destination brings new economic perspectives to the region and creates sustainable jobs.
