Treetop Walk Alsace - Chemin des Cimes Alsace

On 22 May 2021, Europe's leading provider of nature-oriented leisure facilities will open the jubilee facility in the French region of Alsace

Drachenbronn, 20.05.2021 - The upcoming opening of the Treetop Walk Alsace is not only the culmination of a large-scale tourism project initiated by the Communauté de Communes du Pays de Wissembourg within the framework of the Contrat de Redynamisation du Site de Défense de Drachenbronn. It is also an exciting event for Erlebnis Akademie AG (eak) itself. For it is the tenth treetop walk of the listed company based in the Bavarian Forest. The Chemin des Cimes Alsace site is operated by the company EAK France.

The facility, which consists of a 1,050-metre-long wooden path, a tower ramp and a 29-metre-high tower, blends in perfectly with its surroundings and is in harmony with the varied nature of Alsace. Far above the treetops, young and old experience the region's landscape from a completely different perspective and the observation tower in particular, which is one of the highest points in the foothills of the Vosges, offers visitors a unique 360° view of the Rhine plain, the Black Forest and the Northern Vosges.

At several learning and activity stations, guests learn interesting facts about the local flora and fauna and have plenty of fun and entertainment, for example, with various wobbling elements. The tunnel slide inside the tower is one of the highlights of the walk. Those who don't want to slide can, of course, also stroll back down the tower.

A shop with local products and a restaurant with a winter garden and a terrace that invites you to linger in comfort round off the excursion. To get to the entrance of the treetop walk Alsace, visitors can park free of charge in the car park near the 7 Fontaines swimming pool in Drachenbronn and take the shuttle train from there, which is also free of charge. From the car park, the treetop walk can also be reached via a hiking trail. Along the path there is information about the regional fauna and flora as well as tables and benches. The treetop walk is also accessible for people with limited mobility and for wheelchair users and is a worthwhile destination for visitors of all ages.

As with all Erlebnis Akademie AG projects, special emphasis was placed on sustainability in the construction of the Treetop Walk in Alsace. For example, 80 % of the facility is made of wood, a renewable resource. Erlebnis Akademie AG operates nine other treetop walks of this kind throughout Europe.
