Erlebnis Akademie AG publishes 2020 annual report- all locations open as of today

Bad Kötzting, 7 June 2021 – Erlebnis Akademie AG today published its consolidated financial statements for the 2020 financial year. According to these, the company was able to achieve consolidated sales of 14.9 million euros in 2020, despite longer-term Corona-related site closures, and was thus only around 9.5 % behind 2019 with sales of 16.5 million euros. In terms of operating result (EBIT), eak achieved 1.8 million euros after 2.9 million euros in the previous year (-38.8 %). EBITDA was 5.7 million euros after 6.4 million euros in the previous year (-10.8 %). Below the line, a consolidated net income (EAT) of 0.8 million euros was achieved after 1.9 million euros in the previous year. This corresponds to earnings per share of 0.38 euros. 

At the level of the AG, which combines the German business, the Erlebnis Akademie achieved a turnover of 8.8 million euros (-2.8 %) as well as an EBIT of 0.8 million euros in 2020 (+13.6 %) and an EBITDA of 2.6 million euros (+11.1 %). 

"In 2020 we got off lightly despite all the restrictions and imponderables during the year. You could even say that in the end it was quite a satisfactory year for Erlebnis Akademie," says Christoph Blaß, CFO of Erlebnis Akademie AG. "Above all, we were able to press ahead with our ongoing expansion projects and thus opened two new locations this year at the start of the summer season and began construction on two more treetop walks. The past 15 months have been a reliable stress test for Erlebnis Akademie, showing us that the company has a solid foundation and that the business model with the international locations is very viable. We look forward to the coming summer months and are excited to see how the momentum at the locations continues to develop."

By the beginning of June 2021, the Erlebnis Akademie had already partially reopened or newly opened ten of its eleven locations, subject to certain conditions. As of today, the last treetop walk in the Black Forest, which had previously been closed, is also open again as part of a model project. Due to the current positive developments in infection and vaccination figures, the company expects all sites to be opened permanently. 

The adventure forests are also already partially reopened or will all welcome visitors again from 12 June at the latest. From summer on, the still restricted or partially closed restaurants and merchandise shops should also be able to operate without restrictions again.  

Due to a lack of comparability, the Erlebnis Akademie will refrain from preparing a voluntary quarterly report in the usual form for the first and second quarters of 2021 this year.
