Bad Kötzting, 22nd of May 2025 – Erlebnis Akademie AG (eak) is striving to continuously expand the range of experiences and educational opportunities offered by its Treetop Walks. This became clear last year when a glass viewing platform was added to the Treetop Walk Krkonoše, and a marble run was added to the Treetop Walks at the Naturerbe Zentrum Rügen and the Adventure Forest Black Forest. A whole series of further construction measures are planned for this summer, with a total investment of around one million euros.

Construction of slide, bear reserve and marble run has begun

Specifically, construction is currently underway on a slide at Sentier des cimes Laurentides, which will add another attraction to the Treetop Walk near Montreal in Quebec, Canada, which runs since 2022. According to CEO Bernd Bayerköhler, the opening of the slide is just a few weeks away: ‘We are planning for the end of June or early July at the latest.’

Excavators are also in action at the Treetop Walk Krkonoše in the Czech Republic: following the ground-breaking ceremony in mid-April, work has begun on the planned bear enclosure. The supports for the protective fence are now in place, and construction of the bear house, which will serve as a retreat and accommodation for the animals to settle in, is also underway.

Another construction project at the Treetop Walk Krkonoše has recently been completed: a photovoltaic system on the roof of the office and service building now supplies green electricity for the restaurant and office.

Marble run manufactured in Bad Kötzting soon to travel to Ireland

Meanwhile, another marble run is getting its finishing touches in Bad Kötzting. Designed with great attention to detail, the wooden track is almost 40 metres long and will provide perfect conditions for marble races and exciting obstacle courses – and will soon be making its way to Beyond the Trees Avondale in Ireland.
