Night Lights: The success story returns to the Treetop Walks

Treetop Night Lights are to return – on even more paths during the 2025/26 winter season. Guests can look forward to carefully selected themes, even more illuminated sculptures and other news. A successful pilot run boosted the ticket presale.

Bad Kötzting. The popular Night Lights at the Treetop Walks of Erlebnis Akademie AG are entering their next round and will be illuminating ten treetop paths in Europe and North America during the 2025/26 winter season. Following the great success of previous years, guests can look forward to classy themes, even more attractions and other new features.
From Canada to the Black Forest, from Ireland to Usedom: the Treetop Walks turn into true winter wonderlands. Hundreds of thousands of soft white lights, illuminated animal figures and selected photo spots ensure unforgettable moments. The themes are inspired by the surrounding nature of each region – such as ‘Forest & Sea’ or ‘Forest & Mountains’.
Bernd Bayerköhler, CEO of Erlebnis Akademie AG, says: "Last year, the Night Lights already set a new visitor record for the winter season. Added to this is the outstandingly positive feedback from our guests. We are therefore delighted to be continuing Treetop Night Lights this winter at even more locations and with even more impressive figures and decorations. We are eagerly looking forward to Canada, where the illumination will be taking place for the first time starting in December. In addition, a rich and varied programme of events – including concerts and hot drinks – will complement the Treetop Night Lights at many locations this year."

Successful ticket presale through Social Media
Limited early bird tickets for Treetop Night Lights were available for purchase at the four Treetop Walks in Germany at the beginning of November. The discounted tickets were advertised exclusively via the company's social media channels. In addition to increasing sales in November, which is typically a rather slow month for bookings, this also allowed measuring the influence of social media on ticket sales. "The result was overwhelming. Our originally planned quota of 1,000 tickets sold out within a week. We hope that this is also an initial indicator of demand," concludes Bernd Bayerköhler. In addition, there was a cost-effective advertising effect for the Treetop Night Lights. ‘We have reached more than half a million people with the posts and stories about our presales event."

Die pädagogischen Inhalte wurden jeweils in Kooperation mit renommierten Partnern, wie der Deutschen Bundesstiftung Umwelt, umgesetzt. Im Jahr 2024 besuchten insgesamt mehr als 2,2 Mio. Besucher die Baumwipfelpfade und Abenteuerwälder der eak-Gruppe (inkl. Minderheitenbeteiligungen). Neben der Planung von – unter normalen Rahmenbedingungen – durchschnittlich jährlich zwei bis drei neuen Erlebniseinrichtungen bieten sich zusätzliche konkrete Wachstumsperspektiven durch Erweiterung der bestehenden Anlagen, Ausbau des Merchandise, Gastronomieangebote und Kooperationsmarketing – sowie perspektivisch durch Konzept-Transfer auf andere Naturerlebniswelten.
