There’s a
beautiful view of the Granitz protected forest area in the south-east of Rügen
from the "Eagle's Nest" observation tower. The magnificent Granitz
Hunting Lodge stands on Tempelberg mountain, the highest point of the forest
area, just across from the "Eagle's Nest". It is a popular
destination close to the seaside resorts of Binz, Sellin and Lancken Granitz.
We recommend taking the historic narrow-gauge railway “Rasender Roland” to
discover this part of Rügen in a special way. The historic train, with its
lovingly restored carriages from the turn of the century, runs from Putbus to
Göhren via Binz, Sellin and Baabe.
Alternatively, you can stroll along the seaside promenades of the resorts with their elegant resort architecture, or learn about the historical background of the "Colossus of Prora". Test your personal limits and tackle a whole range of challenges at the Prora rope course. If you’d prefer to take it easy, you can take a boat trip to the impressive chalk coast.
