The walk - From the entrance to the observation tower

With an overall length of 1,250 metres (incl. ramp inside the tower) at a height of up to 20 metres above the forest floor, the walk meanders through the beeches, firs and spruces of the impressive mixed mountain forest - past numerous learning and activity stations that reveal interesting facts about the local nature and wildlife.

Experience the forest in a completely new dimension from the treetop walk.

The observation tower - Enjoy the view over the Black Forest from 40 metres above the ground

In the truest sense of the word, the highlight of the walk is its 40-metre-high observation tower.

It is unique not only due to its airy architectural form, but also because of its mainly wooden construction.

The rising spiral structure inside the tower with a maximum gradient of 6% ensures a relaxed, accessible climb up to the observation platform at a height of 40 metres.

Once you reach the top platform of the observation tower, you will be rewarded with a unique view: the Naturpark Schwarzwald Mitte/Nord spreads out all around in an impressive sea of dense forest. On clear days, you can see as far as the Kraichgau, the Stuttgart TV Tower and the Swabian Alb.

Get closer to nature at the learning and activity stations

Information boards along the walk introduce and illustrate life in the Black Forest.

They display local tree species and their different living conditions, relics of the forest’s primordial flora as well as the northern Black Forest holiday region.

By seeing and touching, you’ll get interesting insights on the following topics:

• Biodiversity in the mixed mountain forest

Forest animals

There are balance beams and moving obstacles to overcome at the activity stations - and all this at dizzy heights. The stations provide a good measure of fun and excitement for family outings.
